Red Bull KTM Tech3’s Philipp Öttl started the 17th round of the 2019 Moto2 World Championship at the beautiful Phillip Island Circuit from the ninth row of the grid today. The young German moved forward in the course of the overcast battle and did some cautious final laps as it slightly started to rain to eventually finish in 22nd position.

Following a very positive Friday, where he enjoyed racing at the Phillip Island circuit and scored strong results, Red Bull KTM Tech3‘s Marco Bezzecchi was back in strong form today, although heavy winds and some rain drops throughout the day disturbed the proceedings. Nonetheless, the fast Italian managed to miss out on the pole position by just 0.685 seconds to snatch ninth in today’s Q2, which he reached immediately.

The opening day at the Australian Grand Prix showed up with typical changing weather conditions. Thereby, Red Bull KTM Tech3’s Marco Bezzecchi discovered a decent feeling on a wet track in FP1 already, but showed an even stronger performance in the sunny second session to finish just 0.471 seconds off the top in a fantastic fifth place.
