The Red Bull KTM Tech3 duo of Philipp Öttl and Marco Bezzecchi had an interesting day of testing today, following a rather difficult race at the Red Bull Ring.

Thereby, Öttl tried some new parts, but mainly focused on different settings in order to improve his feeling before the remaining eight races of the 2019 Moto2 World Championship season, whereby he was doing his personal fastest lap with a 1:29.7 at the Austrian venue. At the same time, Bezzecchi did his first laps with the new KTM bike, finding some positive sensations and concluding the day with a personal best of 1:30.1 after 57 laps throughout Monday.

Time: 1:29.7

"The day of testing was positive. We did good work and had a lot of things to try. Normally we don’t have enough time during the race weekend to experiment, so it was very useful. We tried to stop the bike a bit better and I think we did achieve something positive in this area. Finally, the bike was easier to ride. My lap times were good and also consistent. Now I’m looking forward to Silverstone."

Marco Bezzecchi

Time: 1:30.1

Laps: 57

"Finally, I was very happy to try the bike. In the beginning it was not easy to understand it, because it was completely different to the one before, a lot more sensitive. But then it went better and better. During the day, we found some small changes, that gave us a bit more confidence, especially in the front, which I’m basically struggling with since the beginning of the season. So, it was a good step. There are still many places to improve, especially the rear grip, which was a bit more positive with the old bike. Also the team worked really good and we made some important steps. We’ll start from there in Silverstone."
