Red Bull KTM Tech3’s Marco Bezzecchi showed some good improvement during today’s Q1 at the TT Circuit in Assen. Following a difficult FP3 this morning, the Italian did some strong laps in Qualifying one to eventually finish in P8. Thereby, the intermediate class rookie missed out on an eventual Q2 entry by just 0.3 seconds. Overall, he qualified in P22, but will make up one position on the grid for tomorrow’s 24 laps race due to a penalty of another rider.

On the other hand, Philipp Öttl will miss the remainder of the Dutch Grand Prix. The German Moto2 rookie, who still suffers from ongoing sickness and vision problems following a concussion two weeks ago in Barcelona, decided to dedicate the rest of the weekend to his healing process in order to convalesce fully as soon as possible.

"This morning we tried a setup change in the front and the rear. The rear was positive, but the front not, so I crashed. I really missed the feeling again, so this afternoon we came back with the front like before, but we kept the rear change. Overall, it felt better, but unfortunately, we lost some precious time this morning to be even more in front. Anyway, at the end, I found a better feeling at the front again, which I’m looking for since many races. We are still not where we want to be, but I’m quite consistent. Therefore, now we need to try to find some more tenths and try to build a strong rhythm."
