In the course of the second day at the occasion of the Gran Premio Red Bull de EspañaRed Bull KTM Tech3’s Marco Bezzecchi managed to lower his fastest lap from FP1 by 0.868 seconds in FP3 and concluded Qualifying after some strong efforts in 11th position this afternoon. On the other side of the garage, Philipp Öttl, improved with each session today. The German intermediate class rookie found a better pace this morning during the third Free Practice session already by 0.5 seconds compared to his Friday’s fastest and was able to break into the 1’42s during Qualifying, ending up only 0.383 seconds behind his teammate in P16.

"We tried two different tyres in Qualifying, because we had some chattering, but also the second one was what I hoped for. In the end, we improved a bit, but to be honest, I was too slow. So overall, I guess it was not the best strategy and also not a good lap time, but now we try to work for tomorrow and focus on doing a decent race."

"Today in Qualifying I felt way better, but the time compared to the other riders is not very good, but at least my feeling gets better. Yesterday I already tried something during practice, which was good and I continued to ride like this today, so it felt a bit more natural now. I want to build on this, but of course I’m very disappointed with the position today."
