With less wind, the Losail International Circuit provided more favorable conditions for the Red Bull KTM Tech3 duo and the rest of the Moto2 World Championship field on the penultimate test day before the start of the 2019 season.

During the three intense sessions, German rookie Philipp Öttl was able to lower is lap time from day one by strong 1.515 seconds after doing 45 laps in total. In the meantime, his Italian rookie colleague Marco Bezzecchi improved 0.173 following 32 laps ahead of the final track day before the Qatar GP next week.

Position: 28th – Time: 2:01.350 – Laps: 45

“Today we were able to improve a bit more, the steps are clear, but we are still slow learning. I’m happy I was able to control the sliding a bit today, my feeling increases, but unfortunately quite slow. Anyway, tomorrow we have another day, where we will try to put everything together we learned so far to be quicker.”

Position: 30th – Time: 2:02.022 – Laps: 32

“Today has been more difficult than yesterday. I improved my feeling, but I crashed. Just in the moment, I felt better, I tried to push more and went down, unfortunately twice. From yesterday I could just improve by one tenth, so we clearly struggle too much. Tomorrow we will try our best to be better and closer to the front.”
