Tech3 Racing‘s Remy Gardner performed superbly in today’s final race of 2018 to end up in the top 5, which is his best ever outcome in the Moto2 World Championship.

The young Australian came off the line well from P17, did some clever first laps to avoid all the drama on the tricky wet track and made up position by position until he arrived in sixth. In the second last lap he passed Fabio Quartararo and was able to open a gap on him on the final kilometres to eventually cross the line in fifth.

Tech3 Racing’s Remy Gardner delivered a strong performance in FP3 this morning. The fast Australian was able to improve on his Friday’s best time by incredible 1.471 seconds to grab a great ninth position on wet tarmac at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo. In Qualifying the track was dry, therefore Gardnert ook some time to get used to it and eventually finished in P17 in order to start the ultimate race of the season at 14.20 local time tomorrow from the sixth row.

Hector Garzo showed a great performance on his home track today. Replacing Bo Bendsneyder this weekend, the Spanish rider was fast from the word go, especially impressed in FP2 to miss out on the top 10 by just 0.005 seconds and concluded the day in P11.

Meanwhile, Tech3 Racing’s Remy Gardner kicked off the last Grand Prix of the season in strong form as well. After the Australian found his pace step by step throughout the day, he set the ninth fastest lap time in persistent rain last second in Free Practice 2 this afternoon.
