Hector Garzo showed a great performance on his home track today. Replacing Bo Bendsneyder this weekend, the Spanish rider was fast from the word go, especially impressed in FP2 to miss out on the top 10 by just 0.005 seconds and concluded the day in P11.

Meanwhile, Tech3 Racing’s Remy Gardner kicked off the last Grand Prix of the season in strong form as well. After the Australian found his pace step by step throughout the day, he set the ninth fastest lap time in persistent rain last second in Free Practice 2 this afternoon.

Remy GardnerOn this first day here in Valencia I tried to improve from the first lap on, I as working on the bike and with the team. I think the most important thing for tomorrow is, that we have a good setting. Until now it’s not perfect, but we know the way to go fast. I think with some more improvements, we can fight for the top 10. I hope the race is going to be wet, when the whole weekend is like this. I’m happy, very thankful to the team and ready to work for tomorrow.”

Bo BendsneyderToday has been quite good. I definitely thought that I would be stronger in the wet, but I always struggled in Valencia, so I knew it’s going to be a tough one. I had a bit of a strange crash this morning, but anyway, we got a bit softer clutch setting which helped in the afternoon, where I just did laps and found confidence. We were back inside the top 10 in FP2, my feeling was pretty ok, although the conditions were a lot worse than this morning. We’re still working on the setting and we still have to do some things before Sunday, as it looks like it’s going to be wet.
