In a tough race at the MotorLand Aragon circuit Remy Gardner showed huge determination today. Following a start from P20 he had a strong battle to eventually come out in 19th. On the other side, Bo Bendsneyder was gritting his teeth as well during the very hot 21 laps Grand Prix and saw the chequered flag aboard his Mistral 610 machine in 25th position.

Now both, Gardner and Bendsneyder head to the four upcoming flyaway rounds - starting in Thailand - with high aims to score as many points as possible again before the Moto2 World Championship season finale in Valencia, Spain.

Gardner - 2018This was a disappointing race. I just struggled all the weekend, but I did my best, was pushing hard. We were just a little bit lost, anyway I made a mistake in the last corner, gone to false neutral, went wide and so I lost two positions, but we just need to take what we’ve learned and trying to be better for the next one. I knew I when was coming here that it’s going to be a tough weekend, although it wasn’t for nothing. I think we’ve learned something and I hope we can benefit on the mistakes and not make them again in the future.”

Position: 25th – Championship: 30th – Points: -

Bendsneyder - 2018The race today has been really tough. To be honest, I didn’t find a good feeling on the bike, therefore I have to admit I just want to look forward now. I’m sorry to say that, but I can’t wait to arrive in Thailand. Let’s see what happens there.”

Team Manager

Another strong weekend for Remy. I would like to see the glass half full, not half empty. Sure, our position is not what we are expecting and not what Remy is looking for. All weekend long it was difficult, but Remy never gave up, he pushed. In the race he recovered quite a few positions at the start and then he was in a fight with Steven Odendaal and Edgar Pons, doing good lap times after he lost a bit of time about two thirds of the race, but in the end, he was really fast and catching the guys in front of him, which is for me the most important. Remy is growing and he is having a very different attitude. He believes more in himself, he believes in the team of course. On a circuit, which has been difficult for us, he showed great determination and pushed until the very last lap. This is something that we have to congratulate him for. Of course, things should be easier at the next rounds, altough anyway, we are happy to work in a positive atmosphere and we need to carry on like that. Bo showed also some progress throughout the weekend. Sometimes he was faster than Remy, pushing him and in the race, he was clearly behind, but I think he also did some steps forward during the weekend, which is what we have to look for. We know that next year is going to be another challenge, but for now we still have to go a few more races within the Honda Moto2 era and we hope to end up the season on a positive note with our two guys pushing the whole weekend and having a smile on their face when they come back from the race.”
