The Tech3 Racing team rider Remy Gardner got off a flying start on the second day of action at the Termas de Río Hondo Circuit. The Australian extraordinarily topped the third Free Practice in tricky conditions and kept his great feeling also during qualifying. He showed a consistent pace and was finally able to equal his best ever Moto2 grid position with P9.

On the other side of the Tech3 Racing team garage, Bo Bendsneyder was working hard to adapt to the delicate circumstances, riding in partly wet conditions for the first time on his Mistral 610. Eventually, the intermediate class rookie has to attack the Argentina Grand Prix tomorrow at 13:20 local time from the ninth row.

Position: 9th - Time: 1’57.166 - Laps: 16

Remy Gardner “After this great FP3 I was feeling good and at the start of the qualifying I felt I didn’t really make the most of the dry conditions, plus I got held up, so I think we could have been further up the grid. Then it rained a bit more and I came in to put in a new rear tyre. It took me a while to really understand how much grip there was. In some corners with the water on the track there was more grip, I had to get my head around that. It’s not a bad starting position, but I think I wanted a bit more. Anyway, the race is tomorrow and the conditions will be unpredictable as well, so we have to see.”

Bo Bendsneyder

Position: 25th - Time: 1’59.630 - Laps: 20

Bo Bendsneyder“The qualifying was quite difficult with the weather. In the end there was more rain, but also more grip, which was hard to understand. I think we still need to fix something with the bike to have a stable bike on the brakes in order to stop it better and have the corner speed. We have some work to do for tomorrow, especially if it’s wet. If it’s dry, we’ll have to wait and see. I’m looking forward to the race, honestly, I’m not too happy about the place today, but Sunday is another day.”
