Vierge powers to 9th in front of home crowd – Gardner perseveres in arduous Catalunya fight

Tech3 Racing Team rider Xavi Vierge produced a determined and highly impressive performance at the gruelling Gran Premi Monster Energy de Catalunya to finish 9th. The young Spaniard undertook a solid start and maintained a strong pace whilst he fought against the vastly experienced riders in the highly competitive group as track temperatures reached over 50 degrees. Eventually, Vierge emerged from the scrap to seal his 5th top ten finish of the year.

On the other side of the garage, Remy Gardner pushed nonstop at the punishing circuit to reach 20th by the fall of the flag. The promising Australian endured a tough qualifying campaign and launched forward from 26th on the grid. Nevertheless, he bolted forwards when the GP began and snaked his way up the field, despite the difficult conditions, before reaching the chequered flag.

Tech3 Racing Team rider Xavi Vierge will commence his home Grand Prix from the fourth row of the grid after producing a spirited display in qualifying today. The young Spaniard immediately built up his speed before powering to a top lap time that was eventually 0.283 back from the second row. He aimed to continue his climb, yet an unfortunate crash on the last lap halted his progress. Nevertheless, he will aim to seal a top ten finish in the sprint tomorrow.

Meanwhile, Remy Gardner experienced a challenging day in Spain despite his best efforts and he will begin from the ninth row. However, the young Australian and his team made advances in the session today, and tomorrow he aims to battle his way through the field to close the weekend solidly.

Xavi Vierge returned to the track after missing the previous race due to an injury and today he comfortably got back into the groove in front of his home fans. The young Spaniard kicked off the day by finishing FP1 in 10th, and then later, he confidently completed the afternoon session only 0.814 back from 3rd. Whilst Remy Gardner leapt into action at the Catalan circuit but experienced a challenging time despite his best efforts. Nevertheless, the young Australian seeks to work hard and bounce back tomorrow and then close the weekend with a point scoring finish on Sunday.
