Xavi Vierge turned heads by powering to his best ever finish in the highly competitive Moto2 class with an expertly calculated ride to 5th today in South America. The young Spaniard bolted forward from 8th on the grid and fought for the entire 23 lap race in an ultra-competitive pack of riders. He eventually hit the front of the group on the last lap before meeting the chequered flag in this notable position. The result marks a second top ten finish this season for Vierge, who continues to impress aboard the Tech3 designed and built Mistral 610.

Meanwhile, Remy Gardner was luckless today in Argentina as he fell on the opening lap after being taken out by another rider. The young Australian sustained a broken ankle in the fall and will travel to Spain tomorrow where a decision will be made regarding surgery. The entire Tech3 Racing Team wishes Remy a speedy recovery.

The Tech3 Racing team duo produced two solid efforts today as they battled against the changing weather conditions in the Argentina GP qualifying shootout, and now they confidently eye up the round 2 battle tomorrow. Xavi Vierge clinched the 8th slot on the grid for the 23 lap sprint after speeding to his personal best on his final lap, which saw him end up just three-tenths of a second back from the front row. Whilst Remy Gardner will begin from the head of the ninth row having experienced a tricky qualifying campaign despite his best efforts. Nevertheless, the young Australian fully intends to climb through the pack tomorrow and determinedly clinch a point scoring finish, with the all important race beginning at 14:20 in Argentina and 19:20 in central Europe.

The Tech3 Racing team riders kicked off the second round of the 2017 World Championship with two strong displays today aboard their Mistral 610 Moto2 bikes. Xavi Vierge dug deep and continued his notable form since the start of the season to finish the day in 9th and just 0.251 from third position. Whilst Remy Gardner commenced his weekend with an impressive run to 6th in FP1, before finishing the afternoon practice only three-tenths of a second back of the top ten. Both riders confidently eye up tomorrow’s action which commences with FP3 at 10:55 local time or 15:55 in central Europe.
